School-Based Health Center at the Seattle World School

I designed and am currently developing this site as part of a larger project for International Community Health Services. The website will be gradually fleshed out and will include interactive elements such as video and possibly the ability for patients to login.

Deliverables include a bilingual flyer to be made available in English as well as Chinese, Vietnamese, Spanish, Somali, Amharic and Tigrinya, and an outreach card.

Flyer

The client wanted a brochure, flyer and outreach card to publicize their school-based health center. I drafted a brochure for a working meeting with the client.

During the meeting, we decided that a flyer layout was more appropriate for the amount of content they wanted to present. We also moved the layout from InDesign to Microsoft Word to facilitate ease in content changes. The flyer was approved after three drafts.

Website visual design

I designed the website after the simplicity of the flyer and built it. Afterward, I decided to increase the visual appeal since I unnecessarily locked myself into the design of the flyer.

The updated design utilizes a simple graphic of a globe in the header for some visual style as well as manila folder tabs in the navigation since it is a health center website located in a school. The color palette and fonts were selected from International Community Health Services’ branding and style guide.
